Abstract

The issues of improving the environmental safety of regions affected by the development of coal reserves and the subsequent liquidation of mines are considered. Conducting research and forecasting water inflow in conditions of mine closure allows us to anticipate possible environmental risks associated with flooding and groundwater pollution.
Existing methods and scientific principles for organizing hydrogeoecological monitoring, as well as predictive analysis of geofiltration and migration processes of water inflow during the liquidation of mining enterprises, remain insufficiently developed. This is why the study and forecasting of water inflow from mines undergoing liquidation are relevant for improving the environmental safety of the region.
The predicted water inflows into the mine workings of the mine horizons are calculated using the analogy method. The calculation is based on the actual water inflows into the analogous mines. The calculation of predicted water inflows is performed using the example of the Kochegarka mine (Gorlovka). The Kochegarka mine, which operated at the 970 m horizon from 1985 to 1994, was adopted as an analogous one.
Forecasting the water inflow of liquidated mines allows us to comprehensively understand the problem of increasing the environmental safety of the region, which is an important step to ensure sustainable development and environmental protection (for example, to predict the possible replacement of fresh water with mine water; to correctly determine the capacity of drainage complexes being put into operation, etc.).
