Abstract

The conditions for the rolling stock movement of the urban passenger land transportation on the multi-lane sections of city streets using the example of the bus movement along the routes are modelled. It is established that the defining condition for the operative maintenance of the bus technical speed is the formation nature of the «speed – density» connection of the traffic flow along the lanes. In this case the flow rate should be greater than the planned technical speed of the buses.

The work solved the problem of the traffic density distribution by lanes, which was considered for three cases of the formation of the PRT traffic conditions on the multi-lane sections of city road networks: single-lane traffic, two-lane traffic and three-lane traffic. The simulation of the traffic flow based on the conditions that the traffic density should provide the necessary traffic interval for the PRT was carried out. These models were presented graphically using formulae for each lane according to the situation under consideration. The necessary formulae for rating the PRT technical speed by lanes for three situations on the sections of the urban street-road networks, taking into account the traffic flow and its state are obtained.

It is noted that the further direction of the work should be associated with experimental studies of the obtained formulae for the operational control of the rolling stock technical speed of the urban passenger land transportation, which will make it possible to obtain the necessary constants in the derived formulae and formulate practical recommendations.
