HALF-FORGOTTEN POLITICAL MYTH OR AN ENDURING TOPICALITY?

The article examines the dominant practice of Russian public discourse con-
cerning the figure of Lenin. It usually includes assessments of his activities, a certain analysis of
Lenin's psychotype, a social and communicative cross-section of Lenin's relations with like-
minded people and the opposition, and contains general theoretical considerations on the topic
of political struggle, applied methods, and the logic of historical development. For analysis, the
article by historian V.P. Buldakov has been selected as, to a certain extent, representative of the
prevailing tendency in the interpretation of Lenin and his theoretical legacy.
