Determination Technique of the Vehicle Overtaking Maneuver with Increasing Speed

The determination technique of the vehicle overtaking maneuver with increasing speed based on the simulation modelling of an overtaking car motion is improved. Unlike the existing one, this technique allows you to determine the speed and time of an overtaking car motion based on the computer simulation of its movement.
When modelling, road conditions, technical characteristics of the overtaking car, and the existing traffic organization are taken into account.
The proposed simulation of an overtaking car motion is carried out in the computer program «Calculation of speed and time of movement» developed by the author.
The application of the proposed technique for real cars moving along real sections showed that the obtained
parameters of the overtaking maneuver differ significantly from those that can be obtained using the existing technique. This is explained by the fact that when using the existing technique, an assumption is made about the motion of an
overtaking car with the maximum possible acceleration along a conditionally ideal section without radii, ascents, with a rough, smooth surface and unlimited lane width.
