Opportunities of the Universal Policy Development in the Field of Intellectual Property as a Tool for Economic Growth

The current reality is such that the importance of intellectual property rights (IPR) policies and their impact on the economic development must be taken into account, especially in the context of developing countries. Intellectual property rights play a key role in stimulating innovation and economic growth through various channels such as international trade, foreign direct investment and research licensing.
The article highlights the differences in the impact of IPR policies across countries, which depend on their political and economic institutions. For example, more democratic countries, as shown research have a higher level of use of emerging technologies while strengthening intellectual property rights.
The example of the IPR area of India is taken, where the Patent Act of 1970 excluded pharmaceutical and agrochemical products from the scope of patents with the aim of developing self-sufficient local industries. This led to the development of the Indian pharmaceutical industry and the creation of significant expertise in reverse engineering of drugs. However, with economic liberalization since 1992, India has been forced to revise its strategies, including in the area of intellectual property, to comply with international obligations. In this context, changes in Indian patent laws and their impact on the pharmaceutical industry are examined.
The need for balance in IPR policies to achieve economic growth, especially for developing countries, is emphasized. It is noted that changes in IPR policies in one region can have an impact on other regions, so it is important for countries to find a balance between protecting intellectual property and stimulating innovation and growth.
