Monitoring the Road Network Condition Using Innovative Technologies

The federal project «System-wide measures for the development of the road facilities» is a part of the national project «Safe high-quality roads» provides for the creation of digital models of public roads (sections of highways) of federal, regional or inter-municipal significance. This project will collect and update all information about the diagnostics of roads with an indication of the assessment of their condition.
The digital model of the road will allow to fully assess the life cycle of the roads, to distribute the allocated funds and monitor them, to determine the effectiveness of their use in real time. Before creating a digital road model, it is necessary to perform the field work on collecting, analyzing and systematizing data on the actual condition and operating conditions of the road. After the field work is completed, computer processing of the information received is performed and a technical passport of the road is compiled. The created technical passport of the road forms the basis for creating a digital model of the road, which can later be used to create an infrastructure used for the movement of unmanned vehicles.
