Improvement of the Quality Management System at Coke Plants

Due to objective reasons, historical prerequisites and industry characteristics, the coke production enterprises play a great role in the industrial structure of the Donetsk People's Republic. In this regard, the development of the theoretical and methodological principles and the development of practical recommendations and mechanisms for ensuring the product quality of coke-chemical enterprises in order to increase their competitiveness and enter the regional and world markets is an important task and requires a fundamental research in this direction.
The paper analyzes the features of the production organization and the implementation of key business processes at coke plants of the Donetsk People's Republic. Among the main factors affecting the quality characteristics of the products, one can single out: the complex nature of production and requirements for the raw material base, the nonstop character of production, the dependence of the output and quality of products on the quality of raw materials, the explosion and fire hazard of production, the high concentration of production, the linkage of the coke enterprises location with a raw material base, the high wear of the enterprise fixed assets and the aggressiveness of the operating environment of the main equipment, belonging to the processing industry.
The analyzed features and problems of the coke plants work made it possible to identify the ways to improve the quality management system. As a result, the concept of improving the quality management system of the coke plants products was proposed.
The concept is based on the quality management mechanism based on the application of theoretical and methodological developments and the use of practical experience in creating the quality management systems at leading domestic and foreign enterprises.
The continuous quality improvement, which is the basis of the presented mechanism, presupposes a gradual transition to the conformity of manufactured products not only to domestic, but also to international quality standards. The article substantiates the expediency of using the international standards ISO 9000, analyzes their structure and substantiates the benefits of their application.
