Analysis of Foreign Trends in the Field of the Labour Protection

Today, the successful functioning of any enterprise is mainly determined by its attitude to the health and safety issues. As a rule, the foreign companies put the problem of ensuring safe and favourable working conditions at the forefront, developing ergonomics, as well as transforming the functions of the labor protection from a controlling body into a consulting one, the main purpose of which is not the punishment, but the assistance in preventing accidents. In turn, the domestic enterprises define such priority areas as the labour productivity increase, the profit maximization, and the increase in the quality of products. In this regard, it is advisable to analyze the international experience in the field of the labour protection to identify the development prospects in this area for domestic enterprises.
In the study the key foreign trends in the field of the labor protection are identified and analyzed. In addition, the analysis of the international experience in stimulating the provision of the safe conditions and labour protection are carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the main aspects of the foreign companies’ focus are the culture improvement of the labour safety, ensuring the data openness and transparency, as well as the introduction of the innovative solutions in the field of the labour safety. Recommendations for the partial implementation of the foreign experience into the domestic practice are developed.
The results of the study made it possible to determine the key trends in the field of the labour protection inherent in foreign companies, including the increased data transparency, the health protection, the digitalization, the introduction of risk-based approaches, the transport safety, the development of behavioral controls, training and engagement. Thanks to these areas, many international companies have achieved a level of zero injuries, and also significantly reduced the level of occupational diseases. Despite this, it is unreasonable to implement international experience into domestic practice fully, since some of the considered tools and approaches have their own specifics and require adaptation.
