Abstract

This article examines the psychological interpretation of the problem of the so-called "archaic man" in the K.G. Jung’s work "Problems of the soul of our time". It is shown that in his interpretation of this concept and in comparing the archaic man with the man of the modern world, Jung relies on his own theory of the collective unconscious and the "archetypes" included in it.  The archaic psyche exists in harmony with the archetypal nature of the world, whereas modern man loses this harmonious interaction with it.
