Keywords:

The article examines the origin and development of the term and the concept of hegemony. It is shown how the founder of hegemony in political philosophy A. Gramsci identifies his understanding with the hegemon. This theoretical work will further focus on finding out how Lenin's approach to understanding hegemony differs and how modern thinkers, especially Ernesto Laclo and Chantal Mouffe, developed and enriched the concept of hegemony by adding new terms to it as articulations.
