Formation of Conceptual Approaches to the Economic Potential Development Management of the Coal Mining Enterprises in the Region in the Stochastic Environment

Despite the popularity of the global research on renewable energy sources, natural sources, and coal in particular, continue to be the world’s most sought-after energy resource. The coal industry is one of the most significant in the economic complex of the Donetsk region and occupies an important place in its economy. In conditions of the external environment instability, the experience and practice of reforming it indicates that the process of developing the economic potential of coal mining enterprises is one of the important, but at the same time complex management tasks. Under these conditions, the need to adapt to the stochastic environment is associated with the search for effective tools for managing their development, using all types of resources, reserves and opportunities for stable operation.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate and formalize the conceptual approaches to the economic potential development management of the Donbass coal mining enterprises in the stochastic environment.
Based on the analysis of the theoretical studies on the development management of the enterprise's potential, the characteristics of the coal industry and the macro-environment of the region, the concept of the economic potential development management of the coal mining enterprises is scientifically substantiated and developed.
The novelty of the proposed concept lies in the comprehensive and systematic approach to the economic potential development management: definition of the «coal mining enterprise economic potential» concept, substantiation of its structure and components; the system formation of principles and tools, taking into account the chosen approach; conducting a comprehensive analysis of the potential components to identify the dominant factors; further evaluation and justification of the mine development strategy based on the integrated indicator of economic potential. The management methodology and the selected principles are developed in accordance with the purpose, objectives of the study, the specifics of coal mining enterprises and correspond to the chosen approach.
Comprehensive analysis tools to identify the dominant factors in the economic potential of coal mining enterprises, its assessment and justification of development strategies that can be used for Donbass coal mining enterprises are proposed.
