Analysis of the Telecommunication Services Market of the Donetsk People's Republic

Abstract

The article presents an interpretation of the essence of telecommunication services and describes subscribers, operators and providers of the telecommunication services market of the DPR. It is proved that communications account for 0,9 % of the infrastructure sector of the economy, and revenues amount to more than 190 million rubles annually to the budget of the DPR from telecommunication services operators.

The article shows that the mobile operator of the DPR «Phoenix», the State Enterprise «Donbass Post» and the State Unitary Enterprise of the DPR «Radiotelevision Transmitting Center» are developing most dynamically. So, today the mobile operator «Phoenix» consists of 135 base stations, ready in the existing configuration to serve up to 20,000 users with 3G and 4G networks in major cities of the Republic. The State Enterprise «Donbass Post» has launched a service for the delivery of goods from foreign online stores and has increased the volume of written correspondence, both at the national and international levels.

The structure of the local telecommunication services market on the example of Gorlovka is analyzed. It is revealed that the leading positions in the market of telecommunication services are occupied by the providers «Terra Line» and LLC «Inmart.UA». The main recommendations for improving the work of telecommunication companies in Gorlovka should include the expansion of the coverage area in the city, as well as the formation of modern infrastructure.
